Crucified Little Earthquakes

Crucified Little Earthquakes

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~inspiration Tori Amos, Crucify

"
looking for my savior to undo me
under the rubble of victims remission
my chained heart nailed to a cross
lust'd sheets beneath the dirty streets
crucify myself lookin' for imprinted adoration
little earthquakes of my soul unload'd
save me from myself and these blood tears
my heart thunders like a roller coaster ride,
struggle to captivate your poetic prowess
never good enough to leave my impassioned stain
severe'd connections in feeble breath's wake
washed away in torrents within ocean's depth
castles crumble in the chaos of my mindless muse

Often times we crucify ourselves over the pain others have inflicted on us. The act of confronting and dealing with the trauma on a daily basis is its own torment. Layer upon layer of suffering is expressed in your words with such heart breaking clarity.. x

mary magdalene might have written this...it certainly embodies her spirit within the lines.

we all bear our crosses, and life nails us to them quite often.

Never thought of that...thanks so much jacob.
I smiled throughout while reading this piece of poetry, smiling, wondering to myself..."my my, this poet is really something, I absolutely loved this one, I like my chained heart nailed to the cross, your heart thundering like a roll coaster ride...my!! Frieda you are really something. I totally loved this one. Now shelved.

Thanks Raymond, jazz'd you enjoyed. :-)
Nice sort of combination. Women self crucifixion. Got lost in it a couple times but probably because I'm a man.

I hope that each poem you write severs a link in that chain, helps to unburden your beautiful heart, Frieda. Inspired by the song, you took the imagery soaring, and make the reader feel...

Slow process Rita, think I might need a chain saw, thanks so much.
Safety is defined in many different ways...Savior's come in all different shapes and sizes...often they can be standing right in front of us, but those dark clouds have made it impossible to see. What I do know for sure is this poems reaches out...cries out in pain...it touches my soul...and pleads with my heart. Frieda my sweet friend, your poetry does this to me regardless of its subject matter. You are an amazing and inspiring poet and it is entirely possible that your words may just be what saves us. Floored again by your talent.

I hate chains Frieda... not only do they constrain our hearts, they stain our very being... I loved how your poem wove around the music (Tori Amos) always had great deeply rich songs)... my heart broke on these lines : "struggle to captivate your poetic prowess
never good enough to leave my impassioned stain" you are more than good enough and I have the aristry of this poem to mprove it... ""severe'd connections in feeble breath's wake
washed away in torrents within ocean's depth
castles crumble in the chaos of my mindless muse" Tori's song may have woven it, but you wrote it better.. passionate!!! Can you fix my heart now?? please... ~~redzone
