A little birdie told me

    that you'd be true,

I fell hook, line and sinker

    flipp'd me sideways

     now I'm blue,             home all alone

      sitting in my best underwear,

     uncaged feathers tickling my ears

  someone steer'd that critter wrong

          when I get that fibber back in tow

   there's gonna be some mighty divine stew

Those birds do like to sing a pretty song … they can't help it; it was what they were born to do, fortunately, as you deftly pointed out, they also make a lovely stew. Yum.
