Mirror'd Reflections~

Mirror'd Reflections~

A Poem by Frieda P
"

"Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans" ~ John Lennon

"
Mystic zephyrs waft'd through my hair
scented baby's breath of my youth,
mirror'd image sees a random view
each etch'd line tells a turning story
eyes glance harmonious patterns
weaving together daunting history
music of tomorrow's past beginnings
heart still yearns for a peaceful melody
life plays out whilst reflections glare
sanctimonious gray humbles relished appeal
woven through the sketches of my mind
time races the speed of light in relative indifference
leaving behind zest's adulterated delivery
haunting images speak indisputable gospel
unruffled spirit's journey steals attention
from drab fields of heather'd deviations,
 gingerly thwarting a docile surrender
 within dusky addled contemplative musings

Oh Mama F, this is beyond beautiful. You're just the best poetess I know. :-)

What we see in the mirror now - looking back at us - is the person we are now, the life we created for ourselves. And sometimes we like the reflection, we like the person looking back - the life we created for ourselves we done it by ourself.

I loved the description and wording of this one. The imagery was so perfect.

Perfecto! Flip flops & all that jazz ~ safe haven, sighs. xo

Thank you for reading Coll.
Simply put, you write of the brief moment of recognition and the influx of memories when you take the time to look in the mirror for more than a few minutes, and really focus on yourself; it's as if you could see the memories take place in your pupils themselves . . . Well done.

My pupils are speaking volumes lately, thanks Tai...
I was listening to Zephyr song from RHCP and started reading your beautiful poem. So unfortunate I am as you are not in my part of the globe and I was not born in your time. Anyways we are writers we can easily do time travel and make a flight of fantasy... :)

There is so much to muse about isn't there. I just fell in love with this line:

scented baby's breath of my youth,

Of course I loved the entire piece.

And boom goes the dynamite! Squaring off with time and aging... you got a pair girl.
scented baby's breath of my youth... whattt! You crazy, and talking loco... Love it!
So much in one line. Snaps my attention leaving me thinking im fine, until sanctimonious grey's humble finds me later... and then im back to that line.
Tuned in girl... tuned in... nice work!

Never let it be said that I cannot find the downside of any uppish thing. To wit:

"life plays out whilst reflections glare
sanctimonious gray humbles relished appeal"

It is Beauty and the Brush all over again, isn't it?
