/the heart has it's reasons of which reason knows nothing/
what a strong line!
A very though provoking piece, as I question love, and reason... and go through a phase where not much makes sense, where questions bombard my mind, and no answers there to quench such longing.

Two phrases stood out for me because of their mystery:
- "The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing"
- protect'd enlighten'd shadows
I see the quote has caught other's attention too so I vote for provocation as well. But what does it provoke in me? I see spiders in space trying to spin their webs but gravity is lacking, The fly is in heaven as it has but to flap it's wings to gain traction while the spider must cling to its thread and hope for the satisfaction of attraction. Static on all channels as the sound of hearts-a-flutter breech the dark, winsome night.

with my computer I hear the music.. wonderfully smooth, beautiful ad is this poem.. yes Frieda love is sometimes, often.. hell almost never something we determine.. it happens and we struggle to understand it and to love and be loved, IS WONDERFUL.. I really loved the final line:
'we sway'd in the fervid superfluity of protect'd enlighten'd shadows" ... what a 'lover's dance this is'...
can I sigh now... ((((sigh)))), thanks I was holding that in for too long

I could go for a harmonious zealous soul right about now Mrs.R...I like the alliteration, it develops a natural rhythm which lends itself well to the dancing theme. As always, you have left my heart aflutter with your imagery and passionate visions...gorgeous work as always my dear :) xo

I am glad then, that you have the heart and mind that you do...
For such discernment is a rare gift. And usually ones mind and heart give out all to quickly, and sorrowfully abandon the pursuit that would lead to the jewel of wisdom that sits in all things... especially those things that have just sat there for all time, watching it all unfold, things like moon, or mountain, tree, even river. They saturate in experience, willingly, and return to us changed... Smaller things dodge and run, chase millions, and so cut and dart all would be stones... But moon, sun, tree, mountain, these things... they just sit there, and become hit by life. Absorbed Shaken and Patient.
You are such a creature as well. I move through your poem as to pass through its heart, and upon exiting, I feel changed satisfied and thankful. Its such an encouraging poem, and it is always wonderful to see people unfold into new meanings... and better still, to see them returned to us, sharing what they've found. I feel this poem in such a way. It is.. enchanted logic, all its own.
Thank you- Great soul ride. I'm soul clapping.
