Go Ask Dark Alice

Go Ask Dark Alice

A Poem by Frieda P
"

Feed your head...no hallucinogenic mushrooms were used to pen this one, I swear ;-)

"
“We're all mad here.”
― Lewis CarrollAlice in Wonderland

Go ask Alice

about the adventure,

how she fell from grace

into that ungodly space

amongst mad people
places that go meow in the night

yesterday, she was a different kind of gal

believing in the impossible before breakfast
out of touch with toking caterpillars

she left the rabbit hole
with new frightful  insight

it hardly matters which way you go,
it's always a huge puzzle

It was no secret she was entirely bonkers,
whence the queen squealed, off with her head!

Mad Hatter served tea,
with uncommon nonsense
whilst chasing dust bunny shrooms
chatting backwards,

then asked curiouser & curiouser

'why is a raven like a writing desk'?

They all jammed yesterday and today,
into clouds, sand & sea, so that
eventually,
logic and proportion of the Red Queen,

only made eccentric sense to the dormouse

feeding your head...

&

uncle Walt kept getting richer off the
hookah smokin'
 blonde bimbo pill popper;

too bad the moral of the story is frozen for posterity...

Agree that we all of our own brand of madness and not one without a skeleton but it's about working at getting a hold of yourself. I read where someone said they don't think you get to be in this world and not try to be the best person you should possibly be though there are so many who get off on their own "psychosis" or the ability to be a wench. I personally don't know where that gets you unless you are doing a reality show and then how do you like yourself when the lights go out. I'm saying all this to say GREAT POEM get's you thinking.

Well first of, me loves Alice, so this is both a great poem and true to its nutty roots. I read Shirlena's review and I kind of can't add much to that.:)

It was great til you started bashing Uncle Walt... you shouldn't talk about Saint Disney that way, you'll go to hell!! Great poem about one of my favorite subjects. The video is one I've never seen before. Very nice.

I think you may have been listening in on a conversation between Frank Zappa and Salvadore Dali about Lewis Carroll. For I believe, wherever they are, most all the truly creatives have to be in complete awe of Carroll's most unique and quirky genius. Forever chase the White Rabbit...:)

Sigh, yes so true, we all were I guess. Thanks Rita, I love that you like'd my twisted view ;-)
It only made sense AFTER consuming the shrooms and then, what a curiouser and curiouser desk.. it shouted, off with his raven.. say what!!! so then I tried the conventional and read it backward..WOW Frieda what a brilliantly written poem.. as I write, Alice and the cat, and caterpillar are making snow angels in Central Park.. I could say your poem was"FREEAAAKY" but then you would assume I was stoned... hmmm stoned or not I am really loving your poem... ~~redzone
