of early morn's dew, spirit of twilight's mist dark cherry wine's intoxication & comforts of a different rhyme those spaces that enchant musings toxic perfum'd lacings air filled of metaphorical blush'd smoke gasping for surrender 'tween honey'd breaths wafting in my mind of nectar'd burgundy enchantments
Great work as always, Frieda - such beautiful use of language and imagery!! "dark cherry wine's intoxication & comforts of a different rhyme" evokes a multitude of emotions and thoughts.
Somehow, I initially read "different rhyme" as "different time" when I first read it - perhaps that's what I had expected you to say. The line "air filled of metaphorical/blush'd smoke" is amazing too - I pictured a reddish-pink puff of smoke bursting in the air.
And one thing that makes your poems distinctly yours (as you probably know) is the 'ds at the end of certain words. Without your name on it, I still might say, "Must be a Frieda poem!" Wonderful and enjoyable to read.

Huge smiles here, you made my morning Eric, thanks so much for your glowing review!
I feel like someone just wafted a silk scarf over my eyes as I read this. It is such a beautiful write ! You have written it in a perfect form that extols the romantic genre well and I love the presentation and font color too. "Dark cherry wine's intoxication" - a superb line. Loved this. Justine :)

Oh I adore that silk scarf response Justine, thanks so much! :-)
My Lady it is 05:10 and you are still going strong with intoxicating verse that draws on rich and vibrant metaphors to bring feeling and colour and taste to the page. Oh and Jack is soooooo smooth I am calling him Jack Glass from here on in lol!

Ah my Lord, you humble me with your charm'd words, and laughing at Jack Glass..ha.
I don't know how to write an adequate response to the beauty of this. It has a delicate feel and yet is so ripe and fragrant. Well done, Frieda, so well done, indeed.

That was beyond adequate Soliokiss, thanks so much indeed.
I felt my mind floating in the early morning fog as I read this. A semi-sweet snapshot in time that took me back to a day when I took pleasure in such moments. Beautifully written.
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
