Psychotic Waltz

Psychotic Waltz

A Poem by Frieda P

Fundamentals of madness
    warping skin around the brain
miter'd head splits wide open,
like blue skies wanting to thunder
dark heart leapt out from under
          blinded burnish'd eyes
world looks annihilated
from the validity of upside down
birds have severed vocal chords,
butterflies shed their wings
there's no dance left, aside from
ghost steps of a psychotic menacing waltz
& one dark raven hauntingly swaying

Eerie yet intriguing. The flow so carefully leads one line to the next that I was done before I knew it and read it twice more before gathering my bearings. It made me think of a pleasant trip into insanity as if an invitation. Naturally my mind lends to the thought of Poe whenever anyone mentions a raven around me (and The Allen Parsons Project for that matter) and for me, that added to the darkness.

Great. I love having my mind bent.

I know this waltz in my sleep...It is hauntingly and eerily beautiful but the madness clouds my judgement.

Poetic prose with concentration of descriptive words. This is a sad dance, one I enjoyed reading. The threads of time - break us down.

Indeed, thank you for your insightful review jenn.
Such imagery and beauty .. Like an organ beaming through the thunder in a secluded castle somewhere the world knows not about.. and there I find the residents dance in the ball room to the rhythm of this psychotic beat.. as I observer and partake in it's beauty as the dark raven sways atop of me. I LOVE THIS

Ha figures this one is your cuppa tea my twisted friend ha thanks muchly Kee! xo
Even in the darkness your words shine a light that allows us to see. This one zig zags through the mind leaving footprints in a menacing but oh so well penned pattern. The last line has imprinted on my mind the image of a swaying raven on a crooked fencepost staring at me as I pass by. One yellow eye following me and I try to act nonchallant and blend in...it's not working.

Insanity penned in a bouquet of hauntingly beautiful lines. Very cool my friend.

Emotions run amuck and the whole world seems to be totally berserk. Demons do a dance with their hostages. Round and round on the dance floor till the dizziness makes one feel possessed. Such a haunting write....emotions expressed exceptionally well, Frieda. Lydi**

Awh thanks Cassie, jazz'd you enjoyed my dark side...
Frieda does goth and nails it. The black wearing, vampire and zombie-loving, hyper-fan love loves loves.
