~Cultur'd Cure

A Poem by Frieda P

You are the cure, like an abstract Dali
feeding my spirit as Monet's flowers
creative romps through Picasso's soul
soaring high above the extraordinary
inking sonnets with Browning's bliss
plummet me to earth as Sylvia did
sing to me a Shakespearean stanza
wreck my mind with Poe like status
dancin' upon burnish'd Dickinson verse
clouds withdrew from the skies~
my mind reeling like a free bird's
took a step back in reality's time...
Heaven's rapture has kiss'd unto me

while I am not a "heaven's rapture" type guy, I think you and your creative mind have captured an "artistic rapture" of wonderful artists, writers, poets.. oh my Frieda, the images that are evoked just with the mention of Monet and Dali; the depth of pain and wonder of Plath, Shakespear and Dickenson, not to mention the horrors written by Poe... more than just personal favorites, they not only have captured the human spirit, but also aided in bettering that spirit, and making for a more beautiful world.. Frieda, in reading your poem several times I couldn't help but think that this poem has also aided us humans to see the world in a better way... very cool and wonderfully done... ~~redzone

Beautiful artwork and amazing poetry. A writer become like the Poets and writers they read and enjoy. That is why I'm a scary writer. I like the writers who tasted war and tested life. I like the great writer and poet mention in the poem. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Such a concentration of greats packed into so few lines. I really like the way you have mixed artists and writers

Always a pleasure Mrs.R, you who paint the most masterful paint-by-numbers ever ;)
I guess I should avoid terms such as you have painted this picture well and stroke of genius! Or this is well framed and easily one of your best!

Grazie mille Kimmie....!
Love your weaving with the masters...
This style is very becoming....Heaven's rapture has kiss'd unto me....a phrase fitting perfectly with the neo old world feeling you chose to express your love...a lucky fellow I'm thinking..
Very, very nice Frieda..

There was a time when I considered Monet my favorite artist, I could sit and stare at a painting of his for hours on end. But at this point in my life my favorite artist is the poet who penned this absoultely gorgeaous poem I have just read. Definitely an abstract collection of thoughts with a scattering of some of the greats, but as always from your pen, a masterpiece. Presented to us as only you can Frieda. Amazing my friend.
