In your typical vein, a burst of fiery flame brings a world of color, and light, in just a few lines. There is a thundering quality within this poem that takes us into the moment. The entrance of the natural images is mesmerizing, and deeply enhance a message that you cannot miss.

Thanks for your lovely review Foxemerald, always love hearing from you.
We saw lots of poppy fields in Afghanistan. We weren't allowed to mess with them because we were trying not to screw up the local economy after B-52's bombed the s**t out of everything during the initial invasion. So much for the war on drugs. Yet another epic failure of American policy makers I should write a poem about. Somehow I don't think this is what you meant for your reader to get from this poem.

the words ... ah, the words ---- the image ... my Rorschach brain is seeing something that ought not be there. Is this an ode to a pitcher plant? I feel like a fly... drawn by the sweet smell of the words but, somewhere, in the back of my little fly brain I'm filled with cautious foreboding. Was ist diese seltsame Angst, die ich fürchten?

Ah Frieda, this is an entirely beautiful write. It really touched my heart with all these beautiful lines and imagery. Every time you write, I know I don't tell it often but you touch my heart and take a bit of it with you through a marvellous journey. Sometimes sad, sometimes happy, but you always take a piece and securely fit it to the poem. :-)) Loved it.
