Rock On~A Poem by Frieda P~a few of the old favorites, just the tip of the icebergCohen sang Amen as he danc'd us to the end of love Joplin dragged a ball and chain into summertime Elvis's hound dogs made us gyrate our hips Led Zeppelin lead us to heaven's stairway, whilst the Eagles soared over hotels in California, took the midnight train to Georgia with Gladys and her pips John Cougar needed a lover & Fleetwood Mac was off the chain Don McClean served us american pie as we dream't on with Aerosmith Queen rocked us when we were living for the city with Stevie Pink Floyd put another brick in the wall as Blondie shatter'd her heart of glass James Brown told us to get up our sex machine while dancing in the streets with Martha's Vandella's the Kinks were stuck on Lola, as the Bee Gee's stayed alive the Temptations said it was just their imagination The Stones could never get any satisfaction, Beatles reminded us yesterday can't buy you love Cream lead us to a white room with the sunshine of your love as we found Peace and instant karma with Lennon The Grateful Dead kept us truckin' to psycho killers of Talking Head even though Bill said there ain't no sunshine and the beat goes on with Sonny and Cher Gloria never can say goodbye and neither can we © 2014 Frieda PAuthor's NoteFeatured Review
