Ha. You silly goose, unicorns are still around... They just don't bother with Noah. The rainbow was actually how they escaped the flood and made it back again. Noah thought it was all about him... Typical preacher.
;)
Funny write.
I don't know much about the Mammoths... They were too heavy to cross the rainbow.

Oh me & unicorns have an unsavory history, I assure you! haha
Oh this was a delightful little ditty. Very sweet and flowing as usual.not like you to give 'voice' to your work so showing your adaptability and range my Lady!
A fun little poem, and it is true that often the mythical is more special because you will never see it. On another note.... Here is some fun trivia for you, since this poem is about Noah and the Unicorn. In the Hebrew version of the Bible, a creature known as the Re'em is referenced several times. In the King James translation, it was translated to Unicorn. Funny enough, according to some Jewish Folklore, the Re'em was so massive, that Noah had to tie it to the ark, since it couldn't fit inside. So the true fate of the unicorn? Strapped to the ark like a deer to the hood of a car!

Wow, really...that's so interesting and funny, thanks for letting me know! Muchly appreciated.
You knew I would love this, Frieda! Excellent point - in fantasy, the unicorn lives forever. :) I want to put this with Silverstein's "The Unicorn" - Thanks for the smile!

Absolutely adorable concept here, Frieda. You are so right. The unicorn became something special in the eyes of every child because, well, can we really be sure they ever existed? They might be fantasy...or not. They might have been purple and pink you know! The innocence in this one drew me in. Great! Lydi**
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
