half past insanity...

half past insanity...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

...just a bit of satire, perhaps. ;-)

"
Half past insanity and quarter to absurd
no velvet petal's verses to behold
babbling brooks chanting in rhyme
'perhaps it's time to hang up the wind-chimes'
snow falling upward to a new moon phase
weeds scattered conjugating germination
wanderings in my mind won't be set free
bloody ink purged brash senseless jazz
breathing in the illogicality of farces's hold
took a walk on the wild side of folly
madness doesn't seem all that bad
when the teardrops in your coffee
are singing the blues to a cuppa tea
perhaps a contemplative walk in the park
will spark the beauteous pen to unleash
something half past lunacy's bat s**t crazy
lost the plot somewhere 'tween here and there
for now the idiocy looms on the horizon
screaming be content with what you see
tomorrow's derangement could be worse indeed

This poem reminds me of when I seem to be lost as to where my own story is going and I just start writing all kinds of nonsense. When I stop and read what I have wrote I truly believe my mind has left my body and I am left with pieces no sane person believes herself to have. Strangely it helps unlock my mind. Love this piece and will put it the library so I can jump to it when I feel this way. No one likes to be alone in insanity.

Laughing here, so true...we're all a little bit daft as poets I think, thanks Amanda.

I think insanity is life's way of letting us know we are here and we are not getting out without running the gauntlet first. Tears are inevitable for me at some point but I try to roll with it as the song says. You have such an interesting mind to write the way you do. I think some would refer to it as abstract. Some of the reviews you get are even interesting. (Laughs) Great writing frieda, hold your head up, the valleys are low but sooner or later we've got to come up.

Oh how I hear those babbling brooks- they talk to me Frieda! I see the worm turned in this bringing us into the world of madness that we make believe we don't live in.

You just never know what's gonna "grab" ya. I'll let you know tomorrow. Great poem, I see myself in bits and pieces (buried in the yard) throughout the poem. May I offer you an umbrella drink?

Wow! You said "s**t" why does this make sense to me? I like "snow falling upward to a new moon phase" clever wording. Right now I'm falling while thrusting squares into circles....(shrugs shoulders) :)

Insanity can be both germination and pollination depending on the circumstances and soil conditions. Both can sprout and affect us and others. You have penned a great one on this subject. I like the time references for it is a matter of time when it does all of that...Bravo..............

Sanity is highly overrated if you ask me, Frieda. Let your teardrops sing the blues...hell, coffee could use a bit of salt anyway. You might think you are "bat s**t crazy" but I think your poem has that jazzy bluesy feel I just adore. Unhinge those hands of the clock...it's wild and free o'clock and you can do as you wish! :) Reading you is such a pleasure...truly. Lydi**

What seems like an endless revolving door, brass trimmed glass on ball bearings of spinning days finally stops and I exit, into your fablulous poetic world where even the slightest of whims climb up my spine and touch in places I have never been before. It is then that I notice the big clock on the facing building and realize that it is has past insanity. Sorry about the strange content of this review, but your poem today had my mind spinning in kaliedescopic directions and dancing in the streets.

Loved the entire piece but this portion below was way over the cliff:

madness doesn't seem all that bad
when the teardrops in your coffee
are singing the blues to a cuppa tea
