This poem reminds me of when I seem to be lost as to where my own story is going and I just start writing all kinds of nonsense. When I stop and read what I have wrote I truly believe my mind has left my body and I am left with pieces no sane person believes herself to have. Strangely it helps unlock my mind. Love this piece and will put it the library so I can jump to it when I feel this way. No one likes to be alone in insanity.

Laughing here, so true...we're all a little bit daft as poets I think, thanks Amanda.
we poets are a little of that...in between the coffee and the tea...there is poetry...and if not it drives us crazy when we can't write....but often when we are writing...the muse drives us just as crazy cause often we aren't sure what the hell we are all about...where did this words come from???????? my god!!!!!!
a little bit of madness, mixed with reality, fantasy and welcome to our world.

Haha jacob, see, I"m not the only one off my rocker it seems. Thanks my friend. ;-)
I am smiling here... :)
You know, this sounds a little like our friend Jacob if he had too much estrogen... Ha.
I like the sarcasm and the drama of the write. It is just between sanity and well..., "bat s**t crazy".
Sometimes you just have it get it out.
Now calm down and go to work. You will find all the crazy you need in one day with all those wild children! It's really not a wonder...
You know I'm kidding around with ya. I did enjoy your poem. I especially like the line about putting away the wind chimes... Ours stay out year-round... They don't last long this way .

Stepping into the direct perspective of your portrayed character, I find that the insanity has dissipated into mere normalcy, a feeling that I quite find myself relating to too much. The world could be flipped upside down, but I'd still be babbling random strings of sentences that people call poetry (of which is the best kind of poetry). The world could literally be upside-down for all I care, but I would shrug it off because at least it ain't worse than this!
Well done, I quite enjoyed this, especially on the third readthrough.

Hi Frieda, I just finished reading"Gone Girl", now there were two bat s**t crazy people for ya. your poem took me right into Amy and Nick's living room... enjoyed your "crazy, bat s**t poem" Frieda and I honestly believe it's the captcha that makes us loose sanity between here and there.. oh yes it's the captcha conspiracy.. be afraid Frieda, be very afraid.... redzone, on the lookout for all Frieda's "derangements" . cool poem by the way...

Funny, but this made perfect sense to me... ;) I loved the rhythm of this piece, and the wild images.
When we become content with the world as it is, we have indeed fallen into madness...

Crazy poem and awesome song choice! I love that you've captured insanity, as, sadly to say, I can relate to ALL of this... I'm just a tad bit of a, oh how do you say it... BASKET CASE! lol but seriously great poem. I enjoyed reading this, and my favorite line was, "snow falling upward to a new moon phase."

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
