Bah Humbug..........

Bah Humbug..........

A Poem by Frieda P

Bah humbug, after holiday blues.......

Needles dropping to the tune of spent,

like the green that we paid through the nose

literally,          now take down that  xmas tree

we're moving right along to a new year

so we can pay up on the old debts we incurred

start from scratch so it can be done again

So we've made merry green with envy it seems...

Strange, for me, it's the holiday's blues, for the post-holiday are my reawakening, from my seasonal depression. And yes, a chance to spoil my little ones (3 cats), with special treats with the money not spent. Or to help those, in greater need than I. And thank you, for this humourous poem.

It's so depressing taking down the tree. You've captured the other side of the season perfectly.

I keep wanting to believe in the Christmases of the past...the ones of my childhood...there was much more meaning than just "greening" and getting more in debt.

well said, Frieda.

I bet you did too! ;-))
Ha, ha I am laughing at this one as it is so very true! We get caught up in the "I must do" and the "I must haves" and forget to take the time to value the real treasures of the holiday!! Money comes and money goes, but the gifts often do not last until they are due again..........lol

Some people have forgotten what the meaning of the season is. All about who can spend the most!! My kids got 5 things each. Next year we are doing the four gift thing. Something they want, something they need, something wear, and something to read.

Haha-- well aren't we merry? Nothing says happy holidays quite the way you do. It's so true though. I laughed the other day when I saw someone send out a tweet that said "365 days left til Christmas". A viscous cycle, some parts I love and some I hate. Thanks for the laugh.
