Celestial Splendor

Celestial Splendor

A Poem by Frieda P

Celestial splendor made of sugar'd specks,
like pin dots of eternity's sweet nectar
floating amongst the tangerine skies of obscurity
nestled 'tween reality and universe's hunger
quenching the thirst of all mankind's promises
dancing on fanciful moonbeams of nighttime's bliss
countless dust particles enhancing the mystery
When you wish upon a star,
do you ever wonder who they are?

Well well. you good looking Hunk of New Jersey star light, can I say that was good ? O K greedy , Great. I'll shout it out, stepping out on the deck now . Shouting, gun in hand I'll pop a few in the open end of this 55 gallon can. You would think I had the 1812 " Tchaikovsky " overture going on up here , but my neighbors can't spell much beyond ice, so they guess it is a cannon or two.

Last line... mind equals blown. Genius play on words of a song that everyone knows. As usual, you write beautifully. The part where you talked about the stars being pink dots reminded me of the show "Under the Dome" where one of the prophecies was "The pink stars are falling into line", but I wasn't sure if you watched the show or if it was just a coincidence. Anyway, great write!

Thanks Zeniak, never saw the show but that's interesting I'll have to check it out.
I love it! This is beautiful, I love wishing upon a star. Although, I never have wondered 'who' they were. Hmmm, good question!

Wishing upon stars now my Lady. That is fanciful. Glad you are back on song with another flowing and elegant poem.

Freida, you have touched on a subject I dwell much on.
We are the Stars, We are made of the same Stardust.
The same illumination of the stars is in us.
Stardust I Am is one of my songs listed here somewhere :-)

When I go back out on the road again. I plan on ending every night with the song' "When You wish upon a Star" and give every woman a star broach and Men a star tie pin to remind them who they are and a reminder that what we dream and dwell on does come true. We are creators and fractals of that one Great Illumination.

Will have to check out that song, thanks for such an insightful review Connie.
well said, Frieda .. who can remain unmoved by such a display ... I am fortunate to live in a very small town with little man made light at night ... i am usually up by 4 am and also enjoy the luxury of taking the dog out for her business ... when it is cloudless the stars are all that ... i am moved by your poem to appreciate and remember to wish and wonder ... this form you have created (at least i have not seen it before) is unique and powerful ...

Your very welcome:)
A celestial beauty of a write....every child knows the verse that says, "how I wonder who you are" but i think it takes a lot of maturity and a lot of years to realize the impact of that line. Perhaps those we loved who have gone are up there twinkling to remind us of how wonderful they were when they were in our lives, right? There is a sweet innocence in between the lines here...a vulnerability. I liked it. Lydi**
