~Ice Cream Clouds

~Ice Cream Clouds

A Poem by Frieda P

you nuzzled your head
unto the shoulder of my soul
tears streamed into my heart
steamy moments of resolution
lingering breaths of quivering whispers
stolen moments of life's endurance
wafting through  athanasia's elusion'd moondust
dreams of uninvited icy cloudbursts
plunging wing'd poetry into posterity
remembering future's sacred pinings
like fire gasping under waterfall's torrents
i wished upon a snowflake before it took flight
appease this illusion yet one more night

yin and yang ... conflict ... love the title ...i get lost in the pic and "Clouds" is an absolute favorite of mine ... was privileged to hear Ms. Joni Mitchell several times waaaaay back when hippies danced :)
i am plunged instantly into warmth and comfort then pushed deeper ... finding the reality of relationship ...then the magic ...and again reality ... killer last two lines and making them rhyme punctuates the dream ... beautiful poem dear Frieda ... its 5 am and you move me to be falling in love again ..no matter the cost :) Happy New Year for sure!
E.

It's perfectly touching. I feel those tears and a resolution that only brings happiness for everyone. I have missed your balletic words as they dance across the stage.

Wooo, divine, love that word, thanks so much my noodebumble! xo
They float upon clouds, trying to take flight, be light enough to never fall, never collapse, yet... Too easy to melt them, to drown them, these unprotected fragile dreams...
You've been gone... I'm so glad to see you here again, dear Frieda. Best wishes that you are having a wonderful holidays,

I guess we all need a break on occasion, thanks so much Sirrah.
Stunning and beautiful Frieda. It has been too long not reading your enchanting poetry for me...but this right here is proof that sometimes certain things are definitely worth the wait. You bring magical weavings to the written word. Amazed is how I stand once again.

Thanks Jack, you are always so kind my dear friend.
An amazing write. The illusion of love seems far but it is near and part of us . We all want that inner love , peace and joy and soem find it and some don't. I love the reference to Athanasia's story which a lot can relate to it. The tilte is very unique and wonderful and it tells me that those clouds can be tempting like icecream but they can also cause sugar rushes and diabetes of we eat a lot of icecream...You still got the power of the pen and you wield it like a sword and a balm...:).........

Thanks John, you humble me with your kind words!
Dreamy and magical....just as the tale of a star mystically merged with Athanasia's heart as she sat weaving, She had two husbands leave her and yet she went on to have a fulfilling life....one that she initially had dreamed of. I love the Joni Mitchell song. We do have to look at life from different perspectives in order to find inner peace, don't we? It is such a pleasure to read your words again and get lost in your enchanting imagery, Frieda. Welcome back. Happy New Year!!!! Lydi**
