~Ice Cream Clouds

~Ice Cream Clouds

A Poem by Frieda P

you nuzzled your head
unto the shoulder of my soul
tears streamed into my heart
steamy moments of resolution
lingering breaths of quivering whispers
stolen moments of life's endurance
wafting through  athanasia's elusion'd moondust
dreams of uninvited icy cloudbursts
plunging wing'd poetry into posterity
remembering future's sacred pinings
like fire gasping under waterfall's torrents
i wished upon a snowflake before it took flight
appease this illusion yet one more night

yin and yang ... conflict ... love the title ...i get lost in the pic and "Clouds" is an absolute favorite of mine ... was privileged to hear Ms. Joni Mitchell several times waaaaay back when hippies danced :)
i am plunged instantly into warmth and comfort then pushed deeper ... finding the reality of relationship ...then the magic ...and again reality ... killer last two lines and making them rhyme punctuates the dream ... beautiful poem dear Frieda ... its 5 am and you move me to be falling in love again ..no matter the cost :) Happy New Year for sure!
E.

Reviews

very beautiful narration, ''shoulder of my soul'' , a good expression, a combination of abstract with concrete, as whole , it can be seen in the poem, good writing

You're too kind jacob, thanks so much.
The first half of the poem seemed to have a different voice than the second half (for me). It's almost as if you started speaking, lifted your head into the clouds, and started writing in sky. The overall feel is magical and beautifully and wonderfully alight.

Dreamy and magical Frieda, a beautiful poem of reflection as light and sweet as those ice cream clouds. Happy New Year and welcome back.

Jazzed you enjoyed Julie and thanks...........squishy hug back atcha. xo
This is really impressive... You manage to capture the entity of what it is for a human to feel... (To me) the picture isn't needed as the words do all the speaking here.

Thanks muchly Rod, appreciate the read and review.
I enjoyed do many lines here Frieda!
The title fooled me a little. I was expecting a overly sweet dripping ice cream cone. Ha.

What the poem gave me was a seven course meal of textured delights.
Like a great chef, you blended spicy with sweet, you mixed bitterness with tangy joys.
The fire within a waterfall was my favorite thought. I also enjoyed the final thought as the poem drifted off like a snowflake in an updraft...

Complex and lovely. Elegant and delicious for the soul.
Glad your back!
