I liked this one a lot, Frieda. She looks like someone in need of a friend to enjoy her morning tea with. How many lonely older people sit at windows and watch the world go by - too many I'm afraid. We all will end up at that window someday, if we're lucky, I guess.

Oh, I like this one so much. I used to take care of the elderly and I knew a woman who was 101 years old. She was sharp as a tack. We would flip through her photo albums. This woman had travelled the world. Never married, she preferred the company of women. Her pictures told the story. She was always entwined with beautiful women in them. She never came out and said she was a lesbian, but her eyes twinkled when she talked around the subject. This piece has me remembering Ms. Charlotte. Thank you for that. I hope I have somehing to twinkle about when it is my turn to be framed by that window. Nicely done, Frieda. Angi~

I really need to find out this old woman's story too......you never know, thanks for your thoughts here.
Awwww the poor wee lady, maybe she is waiting for a lover to come back or a son? Maybe she is passing the time... although that might be pretty boring.... Maybe she is looking out the window for a specific reason; looking out 'cause she has a million questions she wants to know the answer to and uncover the world’s stories. What’s over there? What’s beyond? Let curious eyes lead you into stories like fuse leads to dynamite. Maybe she is trying to figure out how she could drop everything and go away for a while. Maybe she wants to travel? Maybe she won't let the urgency of her growing up make her feel guilty for doing whatever it is she wants to do while she is still fit enough to have the conviction to know she wants to do it. Let herself get to the big things in her own time - she should be hopelessly idealistic.
Or maybe there is more to her that we don't know....
This really spoke to me Frifri -- I could go on and on but I won't bore ya, aha. Lovely job.
"darkly shadow'd, begs for more
sits at the window of destiny
a cooled cup of tea leaves
gently grins as strangers pass"
-- I loved this, you've written this amazingly well.
Flip flops & all that jazz! xo

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
