Titanic Betrayal

Titanic Betrayal

A Poem by Frieda P

You don't want to rock the boat for justice
you tread water within a dead man's float
the quintessential boat springs a leak
purveyors sitting on the dock of the bay watch in awe
as life preservers available are already accounted for
you sink to the depths of the Titanic,
nary a Jack in sight to save the day

This is one of my favorite movies, Frieda. Knowing that this really happened makes it all the more chilling. There were enough boats to save everyone, but only part of the people escaped. The thought of half filled boats floating within hearing distance of the freezing and drowning people makes me so sad. Very well done in so few words. Angi~

The world is full of cowards... luckily we still have plenty with honor.

Yes, I agree the good outweigh the bad, but those cowards surely do stink up the waters....thanks Da.. read more
You have described the feeling of being alone without anyone to turn to so well my friend. Your talent never ceases to amaze me. This is incredible.

A mesmerizing piece here my sweet friend. Thought provoking to say the least. Where are these so called friends when you need them? Oh yeah, they are right there not lifting a finger. Very cool Frieda.

There are times, too many of them, where there is no hero in sight to save the day. M'aidez moi, m'aidez moi...mayday.

This movie made me cry like a baby!!

To many people are out for themselves, each with their own pathetic excuses.

Brilliant philosophical piece. When to act and when to tread water. Fortunately, we do have our Jack.

Too many folk would rather save their own skin than as much as get their feet wet..It is a sad old state of affairs..Sometimes I do wonder if we are not all on trial in this life...I Have no God but you know?
sometimes I just wonder

Even Otis Redding would not be whistling from his dock on the bay after reading the strong words here. Where is that Jack when you need him anyway? Probably off with Cal Hockley having a beer! But wait.....I see Wonder Woman on the dock and she is throwing you the life preserver....all is not lost! :) So very emotive and written extremely well, Frieda. Lydi**
