Last Sigh

Last Sigh

A Poem by Frieda P

....but a teardrop in your essence
that sense will always disquiet
took my breath away when you took yours
always a flutterby yearning in your flight
you float with the angels heralding peace
a promise to proclaim faith in all begrud'd
your last word, 'be kind in my absence'
written in the blood of all mankind

This reminds me of the scene in "Great Expectations"... when all the Butterflies were pinned in a boxed frame... it was beautifully sad.. to encapsulate beauty that way... something painful in the depiction of it made me cry...
and here I felt the same... the pain of that last breathe...

Gorgeous piece!~xoxo~

A sadness of thoughts and words, dear Frieda. Lost in gulps and more right now.. this is such an emotional post, has an immense sense of finality marking a deep, secret place in one's heart.

your last word, 'be kind in my absence' that is my best line, it has a very profound message, love this Frieda.

Tragically beautiful and heartwrenching at the same time. This had me thinking of someone that I lost in my past, and the way that his presence still lingers here, all around me in so many things. We are never free of the lost; we carry them, and I believe that they carry us as well. I am always astounded by your bravery, my friend. Great write.

Some are born to thrive in this world, and some are angels meant only to flutter in paradise! This writing not only brings tears to my eyes but also reminds me that life on earth is an option sometimes forsaken to teach those left behind a lesson on humanity and love.

Frieda, I am proud to have you as my friend 'coz you have a beautiful soul.
