~just a flutter'd thought...

~just a flutter'd thought...

A Poem by Frieda P

I smiled in my mind sipping in your words
coffee in hand, poems warming my intentions
a day without poetry is not my cuppa tea
so much passion and emotion spilling forth
warmimg pages to be fervently devour'd
      whets my appetite from within
fills my cup so it runneth over captivated in anticipation...

I see myself reflected back in creamy billows of frothy foam
fettered in the dark richness of your brew

Languishing in these moments, sharing so many views
fills my heart with gladness that we have collectively pen'd another day
a poet's ardent soul is meant to be shared and cherished
like prayers on gentle winds they float en masse on wing'd spirits

I do so on this glorious day as you earnestly
 flutterby...

Yes, indeed, Frieda, a day without poetry is bleak indeed. And a gifted and prolific poet, like you, need never be without a poem.

I see myself reflected back in creamy billows of frothy foam
fettered in the dark richness of your brew

Really beautiful! May your pen never fail to brew delicious cups of poetry.

Your flutter'd thoughts are beautiful!! I always sit with my coffee in hand and come to your side of the Cafe' ( which I picture is directly to the left of me lol) and read what you have for us. You are just as warm and inviting as my morning brew. On cold days you warm me up and on some hot days you cool me off with your words, but I always get my fill of something for my soul over here. xoxoxo

This is simply beautiful. Don't ask me why, but it literally brought me to tears...and I am not sure why. Perhaps it is the soft whisper of your words or the feeling it provokes deep within, something about this piece touched me and filled my heart with a happy sadness, if that makes any damn sense. Now I am just a rambling basketcase, so I will just end this by saying...amazing.

Nicely done Frieda. I too usually read over coffee. Funny but I never wrote a word until about 2 -3 years ago. I spent my entire life in corporate America making a living. Suddenly I had an urge to write it all down. Strange indeed.

Haha sometimes it does happen that way if you're lucky enough Rose, thanks :-)
That is what poets do...share their passion and emotion. Sustenance for the soul right? You hit it right on the nose.
