~Gentle Quiver

~Gentle Quiver

A Poem by Frieda P
"

on my mind...

"
...and then I paused in the moment
                          to devour the thought

always a gentle quiver on my mind
like a good book, I never want it to end

we closed our chapter with no song or rhyme
prologue memories were steamy and sultry
   moonlight smiles were tender rapture

introductions to dreamy blissful intensity
intentions of our prelude to make it to the finale

as fairy tales go there was no happy ending
our final chapter closed without a kiss

still, when I think of you in quiet moments
you are always a gentle quiver in my mind

I simply love how you do love, or at least love of before, in this case. Your words always have a certain silkiness to them, smoothly flowing across our eyes in alluring and sensuous stanzas. It is really hard for me to put my finger on the correct words to describe your style of writing except to say...this is definitely a Frieda. Amazing my friend.

I just love how the suggestion of one line can tune a phrase into a beautiful poem. You took it and made it work so easily. Greatly enjoyed this poem. Trace

Smooth and sensual poem you have created here.
And I thought you'd be carrying arrows in this one like cupid.
I think you have used the word masterfully.

This poem is sensational. It flows through my mind and makes me remember past "never to be" boyfriends.
Not only the wording but the layout and script style you chose fit it well. Looking forward to reading more of your work.

Sometimes those are the best memories, maybe even with no names, just a meeting of eyes, slight smiles and the little frizz inside your chest to say "this could be!" -- but both walk in opposite directions. As usual you have nailed this in gorgeous language, painting pictures in my head that trigger lovely memories.

As one chapter closes another opens, though we never forget such are the memories of those sweet indelible impressions!

A beautiful soliloquy Frieda !

I love the softness of the Frieda. it is a sad poem, yet the thoughts are tender of what once was. As always, a very beautiful read.

i had a relationship that didn't really end...it was long distance...no actual breakup....just stopped...

no kiss goodbye...at least we didn't know it was at the time...

this moved me...made me think of then..and then, and then.

"still, when I think of you in quiet moments
you are always a gentle quiver in my mind"

How true these words are.... this is absolutely fantastic, from beginning to end. There are plenty of people I could name who, when they cross my mind, bring a quiver--whether in being, in heart, or in soul. Perfectly written.

beautiful write. So much better than keelhauling and tossing the scoundrel to the gulls for ripping your beating heart out of its chest and stomping it to a fine paste. Poetry and grace are in your DNA...and it sparkles in your words.

A beautiful poem and the song is one of the greats. We yearn for things we didn't do. Which is very sad.
"you are always a gentle quiver in my mind"
Those gentle quiver leave us wished to repeat dances that are gone. Thank you for the outstanding poetry.
