Splendor of your touch...

Splendor of your touch...

A Poem by Frieda P

Etch upon my soul with resplendent golden ribbons
so that my heart shall beat within the rhythm of your rhyme
Write me sonnets of the splendor and epiphanies of poetry
pen emotion's bliss in pomegranates evocative style
I feel the earth move within the whispers of the wind
force gales and zephyrs take flight upon the senses
indescribably delicious taste of another's rapture

"Thou art mine distant moon
Influencing the tides of mine soul
Illuminating fragile words of grief
That grieve in longing of thee, o' distant moon"

I stand in your light of radiance that dwells in the present
swoon me to another time and place of peaceful serenity
thine words written upon my skin mark its stance in perpetuity
I shall dance endlessly in the lavish brilliance of your grandeur

Second stanza, actually what inspired me to write this, was not written
by me but another sweet friend & lovely poet who prefers to remain
anonymous, many heartfelt thanks, you know who you are! x

Oh, oh, oh.....a poem reminiscent of Shakespeare himself, Frieda. Whomever wrote that second verse really inspired you! Your words are "resplendent golden ribbons" in this one. Dreamy romance, incredible imagery, and that photo to accompany your words....sizzling! Great work. Lydi**

Now you're reading my mind ;-)
I have seen this picture on another poem, but it works here well.
The language is old English at times and brings a certain formality to this expression of sensual belonging.
It is wonderful to know we are not a blank page.
It is a gift to feel the touch of another in our heart, soul and even upon our flesh.

A good poem can really get under ( or onto ) the skin and this one does both and leaves an indelible mark that the reader is proud to possess!
