Autumn Zephyr's Kiss

~written for Angel's Autumn contest

Int his moment, I felt a zephyr kiss my skin

   your touch was in that breezy recollection

every time autumn leaves fall

         it takes me back to our last embrace

the color fell off our labor of love

         just as the season changed

the cold winter of your heart

     took a departure from the flames

embers faded with the snow

         on days like this when the wind blows

still reminds me of warm cognac's bliss

         a blaze of passion afore the fire

your smoky remnants still lingers ~

Mmmmmmm the sparks of memory. I often wonder if Barbra Streisand was right when she sang, "What's too painful to remember, we simply choose to forget."
