The Space Between the Rain

The Space Between the Rain

A Poem by Frieda P

The space between us, speaks loudly
            crushing out
                    the center of our world
   our corrupt lies retract reparations,
          in contempt of love
I run from you as I run towards you,
    words confuse the deceptive
                                    games we play
less pain in the gray facade
  sad rain falls in torrents
     we fall between the tears
            yet the fires still scorches
is there a wrong & right
                    ... Or just what's left

You make me think...
Can we dodge the consequences of our actions? Can we walk into a storm and not be drenched?
Yes, there is space between the raindrops... But we cannot live protected in this space.
Still, we seem to find this magical place as we give our hearts to follow the path of love.

This is a powerful write. Those last lines hit me especially hard. Is there a wrong & right
...Or just what's left

Magnificent.

Grazie mille Angel....
i find this interesting...one of those relationships...sounds like it is hot passion-wise...but communication-wise, it lacks badly...there are many hurtful words.

i was in a relationship similar...we knew we weren't good together but seemed too afraid to part..there was a weird dependence on each other we didn't want to give up...

the push and pull is well expressed here.

"should i stay or should it go"----

I think many of us have been stuck there jacob, thanks for sharing your thoughts here.
This is absolutely gorgeous Frieda. Excellent, excellently done! I love the imagery of the emptiness between such little things such as raindrops. It really says a lot... Great work. :)

So kind of you to say poetic heroics, grazie mille...
Very tortured, sad and poignant. This feels like a relationship the poet fears is illicit, and trying to run away only makes her run back. Riding the roller coaster of emotion and trying to slip between raindrops to hide is a tall order, even for a talented multitasker.

The rain certainly has a way of messing with our heads...I thought this would be a happy poem after the first couple of lines but reality sank in pretty quickly after that...rain can do great favours for love, but it also seems to be conducive to good-byes...I love the oxymorons in the piece (THAT'S a new word coming from me haha), balancing fire and water (tears) and running away while running forward...the last two lines are awesome...this one definitely speaks to me on a rainy day...well done Mrs.R :)

Haha not quite, but all the rain this week had me thinking it was ;P Always a pleasure Mrs.R :) x
Right or wrong, emotions can turn it all into grey area.

I run from you as I run towards you... - We want that person, but do not want to open up to them... yes, it's all so confusing and an leave us standing out in the rain...

Exactly Rita, thanks muchly....
What a poignant write. Is there a wrong and right. Well, there is causing pain when there could have been another way. There is pursuing extras to the detriment of others, but after and including, there is learning. You got me thinking in French and English today. Oh la la.

There is a bittersweet torture in this rain... I felt the passion and pain melting into one...

You weave such emotionally tangible pieces!

This is beautifully written, Friedalicious!~xoxo~

Grazie mille Robbiecakes, muchly appreciated. xo
I love how you construed the rain into this.. "rain falls in torrents, we fall between the tears". It gave me a strong sense of wanting to hear it!

Much enjoyed this, Frieda!
