Poetic Breaths

Poetic Breaths

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~insatiable poetry

"
I breathe in this moment like a fickle lover
to grasp you within my lungs
savoring every breathless last word
filling with the very essence of your song
it stings like a bee on wildflowers in springtime
as a drug  so deliciously potent,
I can't get enough to quench the desire
it floats within my heart on butterfly wings
ink drips upon the page like an ambrosial
 zephyr's
sweet kisses upon my eyes and soul's embrace
gently soaring on memories of darkly posies
this dance of poetry is sublime elation
 personified

You may breathe in air but you most definitely breath out poetry and fills the air for the rest of us to inhale. I found these lines to be sigh worthy:

ink drips upon the page like an ambrosial
zephyr's
sweet kisses upon my eyes and soul's embrace
gently soaring on memories of darkly posies

Oh, yes, poetry is all that to those who love it and appreciate its essence. Your words are so romantic, Frieda. An almost sensual adoration of words and what they can create.....and the metaphor is stunning. Your words flow so easily....always a joy to read. Lydi**

Dancing to your review Lydie, thanks so much, yes...addciction to poetry is a good thang. :-)
I see I'm not the only fan...now back to the line of this verse...

I breathe in this moment like a fickle lover
to grasp you within my lungs

Absorb the moment in these lines....like a cigarette...

and then...

savoring every breathless last word
filling with the very essence of your song

and exhale...let the moment take you...

it stings like a bee on wildflowers in springtime
as a drug so deliciously potent,

the nicotine take effect...

I can't get enough to quench the desire
it floats within my heart on butterfly wings

inhale again the moment...

ink drips upon the page like an ambrosial zephyr's
sweet kisses upon my eyes and soul's embrace

the embers are still lit...

gently soaring on memories of darkly posies
this dance of poetry is sublime elation personified

ashes are left to dwindle in the last percussion...

I bid farewell...

Thank you for an amazing review Coyote.
These words flow effortlessly and freely like sweet nectar and just as it rejuvenates the butterfly, so they enrich and gorge the ever hungry literal mind of the poet !

What a refreshing tonic that was Frieda !

Desire pours from your beautiful poem this day, sweet Frieda. The music is haunting and touches me everywhere and the perfect compliment to you words sprinkled on this page like brilliant blooming posies at sunrise on a perfect morning, which waits just beyond the fields in vibrant light. Very nice Frieda. Once more, I repeat myself, you amaze me.
