I love this line - "sun shined upon her soul, she had found the secret key" - such an uplifting line in a poem of beauty and inspiration. Your words, the graphic you chose and the music all together are perfect. This is one of those poems that just curls up in your heart and stays there. Lovely! :) Julie

Wow Julie, thanks so much, what a lovely review, muchly appreciated! :-)
To find that key...the one that has been there all along brings melody to life. The music filling the skies now is a joyous tune. What we find perhaps is the cage was self created...locked by pain the heart previously felt...but what does the heart feel now that the door is standing wide open? Fly little bird...fly. there are arms waiting to catch you. Very nicely done my sweet friend.

I think you're onto something there Jack...you read me too well my dear friend, thanks so much.
This is a deep one Frieda. Amazing how one light in the right place at the right time can illuminate the entire soul of a caged creature and give it the thing it needs to set itself free, to sing, to hope to fly....
SEND HALOGEN LAMPS AND LOTS OF THEM.
This poem made me breathe deep and look up at the sky, just for a moment.

Thanks Tam, I think I was looking towards the sky in that moment when I wrote this one too...
I loved reading this, Frieda - the hope you portray is truly uplifting. Albert Camus Said this: "In the depth of winter I found within me there was an invincible summer." Your poem captures that same spirit of hope and finding one's joy, even in the midst of darkness...

Ha sorry Benji, do you feel gypped? You know I'd always love a Cohen one, no matter what ;-)
The blackbird's song, for those who are lucky enough to hear it, is lovely. And I have been a Beatles fan since before they ever came to America...I was just a little kid when I first heard them.
Well done, Frieda!

Don't think I've ever heard one to be honest...thanks Angel!
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
