Poetry Procure

A Poem by Frieda P

Your ink injected into my soul
traced a straight line to my heart

 Intoxicating mind trances
        enlightened within balladry,
                    musings heady high

   Breathing in a whirlwind fire
                 heated to the core
       inhaling daydream's verse

   This addiction has no boundaries
there is no cure for poetry

It's good to get a little glimpse into another person through their writing. I think it's very human to seek commonality, we find validation when we find another mind like our own in some way.

Words, funny how an ethereal concept can be real enough to cause emotion.

Poetry is a direct line to our very being. It helps us express the very things that we, ourselves, can't say allowed. Words so fragile that, if spoken, it would simply be blown away into the wind. But putting it to paper in such a way that makes others think and know who you are through your writing, when describing yourself is impossible, is the most vulnerable and most beautiful thing there is. That's how I view poetry, anyways. J'adore! -Ian

I remember saying this about the first poem I read of yours, and I'll say it about this one: If this were made into a video, with your words being recited in the background, it would be AMAZING. You're so good with the visual stuff!

No, there is no cure for poetry and actually I am happy about that. Poetry as lovely as this IS addicting...reading it makes me sway with the romance and hum with the lyrical feel of it. Glad I found this one. Wonderful, Frieda. Lydi**

Talents do indeed seep to the bone, and haunt us if they're unused. I quite enjoyed this.

Mine traced a gay line, other than that my darling, it was a breath of fresh air! x

How true. You express it so eloquently. Those of us haunted or bound by this obsession will save ourselves grief by throwing our arms wide open and surrendering. It is inevitable. It will not make a living for us, but we cannot live without it.

I know too well, how the power of words can invade the city of the soul and stand upon the mount of your heart and sway the masses of your being. Great point being made in beautiful design Frieda.

Haha trying to fix stupid, I always love that line, thanks T!
Last line sums it up nicely! It's a wonderful thing to feel the connection to another writer when you read their work. There are some writers that are so vague and unemotional that I cannot connect to them. I wonder what their motivation is to write... Those are the one's that I have to skip the review because I have no connection and at a loss of words :)
I know - hard to believe... Me, with nothing to say! Lol

Haha that's when I'm not sarcastic ;-P lol
A beautiful poem. Cohen is one of my favorite. His song is poetry. I like the use of poetry replacing love. Thank you for the excellent poetry.
