Moments of Joy Senryu

A Poem by Frieda P
"

For Emma JOY

"
We live in moments,
if we are lucky enough~
we embrace Joy too!

“Drink wine. This is life eternal. This is all that youth will give you. It is the season for wine, roses and drunken friends. Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life.”

Hi Frieda. A lovely write about this special person. Heartfelt. A skillfully crafted Senryu. Perfect 5/7/5 syllabic form. Good flow and tone. Lovely depth of feeling; I like the double entendre of this piece which speaks of the person as well as the emotion. Good word choice. Nice use of repetition for emphasis. Well penned and a most enjoyable read. Write on!

This is a well written and wise Senryu. It inspired me to write the following gift mono-rhyme poem for you which you may keep as your own:

Joy

Momentary joy
is yours to keep or destroy,
to waste or deploy.

Wow .. wonderful..

I was just thinking about moments .. how ordinary and hum drum they sometimes are ..
Then I thought, THIS moment, I am alive ! and I feel JOY .... is was as simple as that ..

Well done !! .......... Jazz

Your writing would do justice to a shopping list, your skill could make curses beautiful, and your finely formed senryu is lovely. In fact, you've threaded everything so well, love. Many thank yous for everything, PetuliA! :)))

Knowing Emma she'll blush and say 'oh petulio'! Thanks muchly Stella. :-)
How very beautiful, Frieda. We are kindred spirits in poetry - I also love the Eastern form and write tanka most of the time though once in a while I write a haiku. I am impressed by the beauty of your haiga, too. Very nice work.
