Mankind's Desert

Mankind's Desert

A Poem by Frieda P

Stars started bouncing from the skies
light fractured the universe
sunshine toned down its hue
man in the moon hummed  a dark tune
grassy knolls turned to desert wastelands
the day mankind relinquished peace....

Let's hope this never happens. Very cool Frieda and a bit different for you, but I like it. This plays right along with Un-Versed Life. What happens in the future no one knows, but I can only hope it continues to bring your beautiful poetry to me. Life without music, poetry or now peace, as your wonderful poem states, I will not think of any of that.

Your are talent personified, your mind never stops, your beauty finds us in your words for your poetry is beyond amazing.

Woo Angel, thanks muchly, doing the happy dance to your review!
i love this change of pace from you frieda...this is really dark and foreboding...

because it's exactly what it is going to be when we totally give up on the idea of peace...and much of the world is already darkening its skies.

Grazie mille Pryde.
OUCH. I so felt this. I used to have nightmares as a child...and it would wake me up in a frozen sweat. the same dream over and over again... I would be walking down the road...and I would feel the blast behind me...every hair standing and beginning to burn on my back. The significance of a dream I will never know, but there are some dreams you just never forget. I think it may have been triggered by watching that damn movie called The Day After Tomorrow...it was a traumatic revelation to watch such a thing at such a young age. Humans have the power to create and destroy...lets hope the scale doesn't tip too far towards the other side one day.
