Stunning collaboration, Frieda and Jack both!! Both of you have composed some incredible imagery for this piece (which I happen to be partial to in poetry).
Jack, I love your "dark side," so to speak, with its "deeper shade of black devoured your soul." And just as much, Frieda, I love your "light side," with its "fireflies flicker," and "tears evaporate in reflected heat," and "dawn's sweet zephyrs on jeweled beams." What an intense combination of positive/negative images, so romantic, loving, and adventurous!!! Ooh, I'm just gushing. :-P

Beautiful beautiful piece.
First off your title grabbed me. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan, and this title of course shares its name with perhaps their most famous album.
I love the pristine arrangement of your text here, very clever and nice to look at, and I obviously love the piece. For me as a reader, it put me in mind of loss. And how it effects us. The grieving process and how it effects us ultimately giving way to acceptance. As we come to appreciate what we had and accept what we've lost.

You read it right Brett, thanks so much for your insightful review.
A+ simply because of the Homage to Pink Floyd. My favorite band. Great collaboration with Jack too, with regards to the design and emotional change through the use of moon metaphors and gradient light. Oh, and music of course.

Then we could all have a laugh!!
Apart from Pink Floyd... ! What an absolutely wonderful collaboration, tis one of the best I've read in the Cafe over the years. You truly echo each other's style and yet leave your own smooth touches. Most of all, the phrasing in both sections is superb. Ok, have to stop, seem to be going overboard. Congratulations to both of you.

Muchly appreciate your kind review Troy, thanks so much.
A great contrast. Nicely done. Also, my favorite tune from PF. Gilmour is one of the best and most underrated guitarists in the world, as this song shows. He did all the guitar on this song. Makes it hard for them to do it justice in concert though.

My favorite too Mark, thanks for your kind review my friend.
As perfect a song as this is to accompany such a piece, it reminds me of "Getting Better" by the Beatles, where McCartney's optimistic musings are backed by Lennon proclaiming "it couldn't get no worse"...it's always a joy to find two poets whose voices compliment and compensate each other in such a way...well done guys ;)

Thank so much my friend. Wow what a compliment, Lennon and McCartney. What a great compliment.
"dark angels took flight into the night
hanging by a thread for all to see
moon hung its head in shame" - This poem has the most amazing lines in the world....
"and I see, once more, you find me on this dark moon
whispering in feathered sonnets of melodic lyrics calming
illuminating my heart in showering sparks of the happy memories"
- Frieda, please accept my compliments here. Your imagination is on fire here and the effect is most beautiful and awe-inspiring. A truly read -worthy creation, for the archives! Thanks for sharing.
