this piece is so beautiful! i often think that the creatures that live around us in the world are far more aware of what is occurring in our world than even we are. maybe we ought to listen to those birds a bit more. your words here are so clandestine and give me the sense of a person's spirit living on long after their life has ended. with your words you give them wings, frieda! they may stay among us forever.
I like the feeling of searching in this poem, and running to rescue this very special individuals. The lines "birds seems to know the answers/that escape my reasoning" stuck with me. Partly because of the connection to nature, but also because it seems that the world also shares in the secret of this person. You're last two lines really resonated with me as well.

I feel you write to your sister in this one perhaps.... This is just so beautiful..
I dont usually like music to open when I read.. It distracts from the meaning of the poetry for me and makes it hard to concentrate.. But in this case this was just a gorgeous presentation from start to finish..
"skies parted just to glimpse
a glance of your grace
whilst doves sang hymns
in light of your plight
i thought the story had ended
but your flight had just begun" goose bumps....

I think it was a combination of emotions, but yes I had my sister in mind too, thanks shallimar.
A happier thought of a loved one who has already gone beyond the veil of the first death...
"i thought the story had ended
but your flight had just begun
the writing on the wall read,
'give me my wings, I'm coming home'"
You found the right word I feel Freida! The music goes perfectly with this poem.
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
