this piece is so beautiful! i often think that the creatures that live around us in the world are far more aware of what is occurring in our world than even we are. maybe we ought to listen to those birds a bit more. your words here are so clandestine and give me the sense of a person's spirit living on long after their life has ended. with your words you give them wings, frieda! they may stay among us forever.
Very beautiful imagery, expressed in this one and metaphorically speaking this one is like iron, strong. I like the clever change up in the rhyme scheme as well, it seemed to strengthen the impact of the emotion especially in the final lines. Great job Frieda.
P.S. I think there is a typo on "seem(s)" should you wish to correct it.

Thanks Astro, means a lot coming from you....will check out that typo, thanks again.
The flight sometimes is choice that defies our hearts and minds reasoning, and is hard to process, beautiful lives we see end, tragic and enlightening, live every moment.
When someone you love is headed down a dangerous path of course you attempt to pull them back, to save them. Unfortunately sometimes that is just not possible. Yes, the birds know their wings can take them away. However, it is not always to a place we can see....not a tangible realm. There is a beautiful spirituality to this write. Lydi**

Thanks Lydi, appreciate your visit & review, glad you enjoyed this one.
The fleeting heart Frieda is one that hurts sometimes with addiction. If only we could hang on to the ones we love forever....would life and love then be so grand.
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
