I absolutely LOVE the last stanza! Not that the first is chopped liver; it is beautiful in its own way. But since I am a practicing Buddhist, the last stanza rings clear to me and true. Wonderful job of evoking emotions from the reader with this piece.

I didn't know you were a Buddhist Lori, no wonder you're so serene, and thanks so much.

I agree. I just love seeing the dark writes that purge the soul... For one thing, I know I am not alone and a complete cray cray... For another reason, I see my friends reaching a point where they understand their pain or at least own it enough to put it in a place where they can deal with it. Kind of like mopping up the vomit, instead of walking around on it all day everyday.
Depth is found in the brevity of this write.

I like that final thought a lot Frieda. This one is great. We all need to divest ourselves of hidden demons every once and awhile. Keeping the darkness balled up too long makes us go batty. Well done.

A concise poem with an apt title.YOur words are so true - we writers find nirvana through writing......we bare our souls, unburden our hearts in the action of writing.
An excellent little poem.

So glad you enjoyed this one Onku, thanks so much.
i wonder about the generations of blood, how they would look all drawn on the same page . . . where do my sins overlap those of my mother and grandmother . . . .
I am darkness
and light

blood is pumping, on its way to be filtered and cleaned and returned
Spilling blood on white pages as we find nirvana in the pen as we write. I love this piece Frieda. Short and to the point.
Very well done.

Beautiful poem! That second stanza is amazing! I love the idea of finding nirvana through my pen! If that were the case, I'd be the happiest, wealthiest, holiest person in the world! Hahaha! Thanks again for continuing to write and share!
