I really loved this, Frieda. Having had a spell of wondering where silver linings actually exist, I eventually found them. The last stanza is exquisite.
"Even pain is a study in its own mysterious way" a poetic truth if ever I've heard one. Brilliant!

Happy to hear that Sera, thanks for this glowing review!
I love this for its bald truth! There IS beauty in everything, and that is the only way a lot of us can stay sane! Your words have so much clarity here and I love: "poppies can twist to opium seeds in turn" -- what an image, what a metaphor. Even when scientists put nasty stuff under electron microscopes, the resulting view is usually of such beauty and complex symmetry that it takes your breath away. Keep this is your pocket so you can squeeze it and remember. Keep it close.

When we wake up - when we come up for air and the waves are not churning and sucking us under for a moment - it is a wondrous thing indeed.
Hang on to it

I'm running as fast as I can, hanging on! Thanks Tam.
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
