Happy Pills

Happy Pills

A Poem by Frieda P
"

~ a bit of satire to help a spoonful of medicine go down.

"
take your medicine

...illusion, delusion, confusion
come undone by your own hand
voices in your head amplified
         like the sing song madness
                        'another loose cannon gone bi-polar'

so easy to fall when deceit is your bed

loose lips, crass innuendos sink ships
                    no way to mend fences,
              always to a live audience
                      you crave your applause
olive branches cultivating rumors, thorns & lies

telling tales you wish were true
                                                       how f*****g dare you

~one pill couldn't possibly make you
any smaller than you already are
"when logic and proportion have fallen sloppy dead"

as words purged through hell
             should remain unspoken

till you find your little happy pills

You already know how I feel about rumors and all that. Every rumor or lie someone tells will always bite them on the butt.

I can feel the anger and the disgust in this write, and quite rightly so. We might be able to forgive but we won't forget what they done. This is a strong write, I think we should send a box of happy pills to...... Yeah good write!

It would seem as of late that I've forgotten to take my happy pills. And quite honestly that should scare some people. Ha....

Your words capture it all so perfectly. When caught up in a maelstrom of lies and games perpetuated with obsessive compulsive intent what else can you say. The outright lies are the worst part. But we know why some people have the need to tell untruths....because that's the only way they can justify their actions.

Festering....

Great poem. Love the way you've represented old sayings. Made them your own. DOn't think I've heard this U2 song before... don't know how I missed it!

Well haven't we all take that pill at one time or another - and U2, love it! x

No if he swallowed one we would all be in the pink!
Usually, I don't enjoy a negative write. I can appreciate them, but usually nothing more.
Here, you made me fall in love with the keen thought and perfectly prescribed metaphors.
"loose lips and innuendoes..." indeed.
The "audience" is a drug as well.
You may not have formulated the "happy pill", but you did serve up a tasty and intoxicating spoonful of sugar to help choke down the medicine of this truth.
Fabulous Frieda!

This was a very colorful piece, Frieda. And I mean that literally. The pink font captures your attention immediately. It's also a powerful piece with an equally powerful message.

Bravo! This is why I sometimes prefer talking with my cats instead of people:)

Laughing here, my son is allergic to cats, any other ideas? ;-)

Dogs can carry on excellent conversations, too. But a parrot's probably the best, lol!
This is entertaining and scathing at the same time, I wish I could write something like this for my ex, I might save this for reference the next time we speak.
