If only, well who's to say they can't...those dreams, those fantasies, those heart shaped wishes can't come true. I for one say they can, if we just do not give up, keep pulling that lasso in a little bit closer each day. I am a believer that "if only" means "it will", if it is something I really want. Frieda, your charm and your heart always show through in the beauty of your words. This was gorgeous, as is the poet. Very nice my friend.

Thanks my sweet friend, and to that I have to say 'if only'. :-)
Your garden is a beautiful place and so is this poem. Only one critique, I'm not a fan of the format. No suggestion, though. tee hee.

really like the "waterfalls spray bliss while humming in tune"
i hummed a tune to this...if only dreams were reality...and love could be this good...and "romantic whimsy " was in a real horizon...if only...we could make things what we wanted them to be...perhaps a part of us would be sated..but would the happiness last..
what is real and lasting is what counts...
really nice piece , Frieda...

If saying, if only, could change things, I'd trade all my little ones in for one major one and oh, how dofferent my life would have been! But, we can't, so i won't, I'll read your poem instead and think, if only...

We all have "if onlys".. Some you should hold onto to,others not so much. We should always have wistful dreams to hold onto. They give us something to consider when life's monotony is kicking our butt. Silly or romantic..."if onlys" are a sweet thing.
If only Belize wasn't so far away....if only spinach tasted like candy..if only children could laugh and never cry.... ;-)

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
