If Only...

If Only...

A Poem by Frieda P
"

daydreaming whimsy

"
If only,
petals of poppies should really dance on zephyrs glances
and peonies twirl polka dot dresses on high
butterflies sing lullaby's of purple essence song
waterfalls would spray bliss while humming in tune
secret gardens would hold the power of the universe in tiny buds
spilling forth the wonders of the world in wee dew drops from above
if only the starlight in your eyes of the dance of romantic
whimsy were real horizons & the dream I dream of you could come true
I could die if only to live my life in this kismet

if only...*sigh*

If only, well who's to say they can't...those dreams, those fantasies, those heart shaped wishes can't come true. I for one say they can, if we just do not give up, keep pulling that lasso in a little bit closer each day. I am a believer that "if only" means "it will", if it is something I really want. Frieda, your charm and your heart always show through in the beauty of your words. This was gorgeous, as is the poet. Very nice my friend.

Alot of if only's in life. Daydreaming, if only reality were that sweet.

The bittersweet "If Only". I have been haunted by a few but none as dreamy as yours. As a little girl I loved the secret garden and had my own fort I would hide away and dream big. But what I really wish for ....that If only weren't if only anymore.

We are constantly reminded and encouraged to dream big, but the biggest dreams are often borne of little dreams such as this...the sense of resignation pervading this piece is almost overpowered by the imaginative bliss of every line, each holding it's own incredibly vivid and picturesque image...there is optimism to be found in these words, even if you don't detect it yourself...your poetic chops practically manifest themselves in 3-D here...this piece is quintessential Frieda...nicely done my friend :)

If only Paris was one step away. If only the answers to questions we seek could be found in our morning cup of java. If only the weeked was five days and the work week two days. We all have "if only's." They make the world go 'round:)

A pensive thinking...

If only this hand of mine can bring you into life
I would paint every detail of you to make you mine tonight...

There are many wishes in everyone's mind and heart. It is called hope...for we still believe that somehow, sometime, somewhere...these wishes could come true.

Superb, Frieda. I like this so much. Loved the concept and your creativity.
Thanks for shraing this.

I absolutely love it! Your daydream of poppies and peonies where "butterflies sing lullaby's of purple essence song" over "waterfalls of secret gardens" is just too beautiful to worry about any "if only"
