Fractured Flutterby

Fractured Flutterby

A Poem by Frieda P
"

An old battle cry...

"
Fractured, shattered
              beyond recognition
 this flutterby soul
  a fragmented disaster
             heart split of carnage,
             mind in shambled pieces
                 puzzles of discontentment
          & disorder,
   disarray of life's abundant
                clear view
    Skies turned colorless chalk
                and dank umber
Indigo ink blots
 and skywriting in crimson
stained this soul of
                 disgruntled umbrage
    & concrete fusions
                   entirely of dim illusions
Merge my ancient foundation
                 with mortar and pestle
ground this butterfly warrior
together for a design fit for
panoramic perspective
                          of vista's convictions,
     the jagged horizon
of my tepid bird's eye vision
    has been heltered shelterd
you have tarnished my spirit
raped my soul,
 compromised, broken,
crippled & depraved in your sake
my wings may be tattered and flawed
I'll still fight this battle valiantly each day
you've not the best of me yet

No, they've not the best of you :) I love how this one follows the way the world tears one down. And despite it all that person fights. Beautiful. Perfect battle cry.

this is very strong, Frieda...i agree with kublakan..

so beaten down, like a boxer who has hit the canvas several times, but hangs in there, keeps getting up and then surprises the other in the 15th with a knockout.

this poem is a knockout of stark images.

I think we may say our blessings upon a courageous little heart here. I think we may also say something about the vivacity, color, and life that carries an excellent cadence in this. It sing to us bright visions that are written with a dizzying, tintillating sweetness. Additionally, it shows justice to the spirit of not only poetry, but of the careful delicacy of a poem's exquisite ability to offer the reader charm, a vixon's valiant, witty prowess, and surprising heart! An excellent write, my friend ~

In life we resist as best we can oblivion but have to succumb to anguish along the way until we reach our breaking point. This oozes anguish and cries resistance Frieda.

Heart wrenching render of a warrior spirit to me. Great Poem.

The butterfly must fight its way out of the cocoon. Break its way into the light, come to find its own strength or it will never be able to fly.The Kabbalah states that not only can man transform, but he must in order to fulfill the purpose of creation. This cries the metamorphosis to me.

It sounds like the battle plan of a strategist that has long since fallen in requited love with his enemy.. I'm not sure why, but I've the feeling that the protagonist of the poem isn't fighting his hardest.
