~One Last Sigh

~One Last Sigh

A Poem by Frieda P

You dimmed the splendor,
         turned down the sunlight
i waited for a breathless moon
                   of starry skies to escape
your golden key had me locked away from eternity
satin sheets could not recover what was lost
one last dance around the mezzanine of obscurity
one last sigh til the whispers
                                  of recognition die out,
                 on a pillow sleek
                  of aloof cavalier haunting

This reached out and grabbed me. I found myself lost in your words and with tears welling up, I came to the point where I couldn't see. Shadows were staring at me with black eyes and I felt the ground beneath my feet soften in an attempt to swallow me into this sorrow. When all seemed lost I heard something, I listened intently and found it was the faint remnants of your heart beat. I made my way towards the sound, following it as it grew louder and then I saw the light...it was your smile. I found my way out...but will probably dive back in once again. I never could resist your poetry.

Gorgeous. Beautiful. Ponderous thoughts that seem like my own. Just loved it.

Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.

Mesmerizing night time imagery Frieda. Words that rub like silk and satin along the ridges of the mind.

Oh, Frieda, this was lovely. You make magic with your words and it's an act I wish would never end. I also enjoy the music you post with many of your pieces. Splendid!

Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it.
Very atmospheric and not a little melancholy, Frieda - not sure this lasted long, mind. Sounds a bit like `never the twain.....`P.

I'm not sure if two people can ever love equally but when one stops it's all over...thanks Pete.
Sad but true...we are lured into obscurity. Only to find that what lured us was not meant to last. This is how I saw this lovely poem. Thanks for sharing it...

:) of course! Me too.
Loved the music. This is a nice but somewhat sad piece of feeling something has been lost?
