Rhapsody's Swagger

Rhapsody's Swagger

A Poem by Frieda P

We danced around the fire
                naked
our souls like whispers
                           in the wind
moon smiled gently
with a twinkle in his eye
enchanted trees swooned and swayed
    heaven sent some shooting stars
                             to light our desires
streams rippled in waves of elderberry plum wine
wild horses stopped stampeding in our wake
poppies frolicked their petals to our  pulsating tempo,
pounding beat of our hearts thrashing
                           sounded a gentle rhythm
our bodies bent in unison to the swagger
intertwined in rhapsody's concert  of harmony
we meshed in our perfect weave of euphoria
rapturous exaltation that lit up our dark skies

It is amazing to me how you can write a poem like this, mentioning only the color plum, but have it radiate like light flowing through a prism engulfing me in all of the colors of the spectrum. I am hypnotized by the offering, overwhelmed with desire and sweating from the heat that has surrounded me. This is absolutely beautiful. stunning, delicious and penned by the most wonderul of poets. I suppose we can coin a new phrase, "Beauty pens beauty". I loved this.

Oh, I love that Brandon, 'a rainbow in twilight', what a splendid review, thanks so much!
Oh my girl... You still have 'it'!
I love the word "rhapsody". Here, it feels like a painting in my favorite color tones.
I can feel the painting well in your words.
This read was a real treat!

Ha do not expose me! More balanced, says who? Lol....
Full of whirls and swirls and nature. I loved the images this invoked. Being outdoors is to be next to God IMO and to share that with someone special is one of the best experiences of my life. Loved it.

No, Thank YOU... you are a gifted and special kind of writer.
Joyful personification - you created such richness in these lines, Frieda. Perfect for this picture, but just as vivid without it being seen.

Hm?
Better get back to it then....I feel a little insanity coming on....
This is just such a beautiful poem. The scene so surreal and magical. I loved the alliteration here:

poppies frolicked their petals to our pulsating tempo,

You create some of the most beautiful imagery I have read.

Wow blue, thanks so much.
Hmm, I find something graceful and wonderful, this is passion displayed within "the fireworks". The surroindings are conducive to it. A fine piece of poetry indeed.
