Corn Flake Fantasy

Corn Flake Fantasy

A Poem by Frieda P

A caviar twinkle in her eye
         of a corn flake budget
her voracious appetite
led her down the unfathomable aisle
she flashes a bargain brand smile
as she orders lemonade in a wine glass
she rides the bus home reading french for dummies
all the time looking at the view
as if it were Hollywood and Vine
heat melting her knock off lipstick
as she forces herself to think of champagne Mondays
she muses soon,  she'll be sipping high tea in crystal instead
catches a glimpse in the dirty window
as it still reflects her so pretty,

                   whilst waiting to be discovered
trying all the while to erase the summons in her head
' beauty can only take you so far'
 glancing at her cheap Timex
she wonders how much time she has left

Takes a licking and keeps on ticking, To of had and known. To of never had and dream, anticipate, yearn. The weight of wisdom sinking dreams. life learning Tic Tac Toe, no fun a cat game,no fun watching, all the fun is in the doing, without control. But the void in my head thinks someone always knows.

Costumes are not the sole property of Octobers holiday, for we all seem to done something or someone else as a persona from time to time to make that much needed good impression on ... what we think life should be. Dancing with a shadow yet still feeling its arms around us as you spin these moments to our own benefit. Very creative Frieda and nicely penned.

Funny, I am more of a Fruit Loop guy. (but then, you've probably already figured that out)

Lol, I could have guessed that silly man! Thanks Jack, always a smile... :-)
This oozes sarcasm... lol!! While having a dream is a good thing..delusions of grandeur are quite another. I know women like this. Always reaching for the false security of appearance, materialism and fame. Well done... ;-)

Sarcasm, moi?! Surely, you jest my dear friend. ;-)
Yes, I know her well. If only she could learn that there is nothing wrong with corn flakes and lemonade, she may someday be truly happy. Great analogy, Frieda!

Hopefully not together though! Thanks Rita.
there is nothing wrong with self delusion at times...we all need to feel special, reality can wear delicious masks....

is she trying to hook a big fish to improve her condition? being too materialistic sometimes make us delusional.
