Like Noodlehead I am a sucka for moon and stars pieces. I also would have came here anyway because I thought I saw Raquel minus the fur in the poem photo... ;)
I love how the subject is so enchanted that they are ready to fall in love yet at the back of their mind (and the end of the poem) theres that niggling doubt -
"would you leave me bluer
than the azure skies"
I also liked the use of the cello device because it has to be the most sexual of the orchestra's instruments which adds to the eroticism.
Very hott Frieda P - nice poem too - oh Im sorry, I'll behave...

I happen to love that Rat Pack, and dame was so perfect, sure do miss Frankie....my best friend's father used to listen to him all the time and whenever I went there we were inundated with him, thought he was corny at the time as we were Beatles, Stones fan, but now I see the fascination.

Would you leave me bluer than azure skies - such a deep and beautiful way to protect your heart with words... eyes with ... sparkling hues ... of lapis lazuli... *sigh*. Beautifully crafted, Frieda.

Sigh, bluer than the azure skies. I love the stone the color and how the words lapis lazuli roll off your tongue. Another stunning poetic stringed serenade from you.

Jack you tickled me with review, too kind, you're a dear friend, enjoy your holiday!
Wow, I was drawn in by the title and awed by the content. I have to say though, this poem reminds me a lot about one that I myself had written some time ago and have yet to place here on this site. The musical analogies were apt and masterfully incorporated into this piece, giving it a unique descriptive voice. Good work! :)

But I will let you know when I post that one in particular. :)
That's the question we wonder as we are swept up by the music of attraction. It feels so good..that dance of emotion but the slight doubt lingers in our minds. We hope the answer is no...that the beautiful symphony will play in our hearts and minds always. So magical the pictures you paint with your words...xo

First of all, love the blue!...and your words melt into a mesmerizing lullaby.
I enjoyed the wistful emotion of being entranced by the moon. Engaging write!

Thanks Quill, oh I love that 'mesmerizing lullaby'...much appreciated!
There is something about "string music" that always conjours the feeling of romantic love, at least for me. I like the image of the Cello and the way that it was used in your context.
There is often so much beauty in love that we fail to see the "ugly" possibilities, but you have eluded to the possible pain in the last lines with "would you leave me bluer/than the azure skies"--it is an apt question, as well as a risk that we all seem to take.
Well written, my friend.

Laughing here, I assume you're a life long member of the I Never Learn Club also, thanks Friday!
If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
