~Dazzle'd

~Dazzle'd

A Poem by Frieda P

you are like opium, my drug of choice
when you arouse me i've no control

weaving metaphoric poppies through my hair
pulling tender tendrils to the fore

zephyrs of lively notes dancing on air
           playing whimsical flutterby melodies

whispering's from the ocean's depths
       ravaging heart strings
in dark rhythmic heat
as the wild beast that can't be tamed,
i get drunk on your elixir
sweet tonic to soothe the spirits

the stirring vibrations,
sweet love knots upon the breast

you dazzle my soul

truly beautiful...what imagery
i get drunk on your elixir-
reads of love and life
I admit I think of chasing the dragon when I read of opium- always wondered why they use that image with this
love that title and how you tied it in at the end
thank you fine lady

A bedazzled soul- now that is a beautiful image. Nice tapestry of descriptions in this beautiful poem.

You just made my day Tai!
Sorry sweetheart...not one of your best, for me. I find this a little uncoordinated and hackneyed and really having no relation to the title until the last line - which makes it feel like an afterthought. Sorry love. P.

"sweet love knots upon the breast"

nice image there...

as usual...bouncy, sensual, metaphorical and full of wonderful personification.

i like when a significant other does that to us...and that person is our drug of choice.

Me too jacob, unfortunately like a drug itself it usually wears off yet, we're still addicted.
you dazzle my soul...that is a beautiful phrase. I love how light and energetic this poem is. Fantastic word choices. I love how you string the phrases together. Love is like a drug isn't it? So euphoric. Very well done friend :)

Yes, sometimes and very addictive, thanks Kristin. :-)
Ravaged heart strings and love knots can only be cured by a full prescription of the motions of the ocean Frieda. Like they say, "take 2 and call me in the morning" ;) Nicely penned descriptive lines that should ignite passions in their reading.
