Pomegranate Wine

Pomegranate Wine

A Poem by Frieda P

The scent of morning dew
  hugging embrace of dawn
coffee's wafting aroma
 sunset's sumptuous  purple hue
gentle zephyr's kiss of butterfly wings
moonlit dances winking at the sun
ocean breezes that toss my locks
         wildflowers scenting my hair
  imploding stars upon the night
sweet taste of pomegranate wine,
remind me how you bliss my soul

Pomegranate Wine? Yuck!! lol Beautiful poem, but someone would have to actually SPIKE the wine with a different liquor to make it not taste of a medicinal tone. I sooooo "respectfully" want to peel away at your poem, here, but right off the bat... I wished to see that it has some space above and blow the poem so as to center it and give it a proper stage to perform on. : ) The color is perfect... and appropriate!! Your rhymes have also gotten a little tighter in the respect that they are of a more soothing nature in the beat and how each word that you have chosen to represent the scents and scene of color and that unusual palette of such an acquired taste, is undoubtedly delicious in its own sense. : ) Aphrodite would summon a kiss for you if you were top pose a cheek for her fruitful kiss after a reading of this beautiful poem. I Love it. Pomegranate.... yuck. Poem.... beautiful!! xoxo -Mark

Ha don't get used to it John, you know there's always a stinker around the corner, thanks!
Sort of the Frieda version of "raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens..." only I prefer your favorite pieces of bliss to those! A light poem that spreads like warm butter on my soul... Now, where can I get some of that pomegranate wine? :)

So jazzed when someone 'feels' it, thanks muchly Kristin.
I bet if we checked we could find all of these things inside a locket next to your heart. Some might see these things as flights of fancy, but to accurately compose in thought and writing the poets chief aim to capture bliss upon the page, is an honor to receive. Whomever, this person is Frieda I hope they understand what you have tried to say here.

I had a moment ;-) Glad your heart is smiling my friend, who could ask for more? x
Beautiful imagery that carries this piece well. I could re-read over and over some lines for their beauty and I really like your diction in this poem, too. Very nicely penned.

Thanks for your visit on my page, appreciate the lovely review.
Your poem is also a collage.. each line could stand alone with such sharp imagery.. all leading to the accumulation of the last two lines. This is beautiful and so well composed. Thank you for sharing it.
