This really is a bad rap for turtles, but aren't they a powerful metaphor for how we should live our lives? Tough and strong on the outside and tender and delicate inside. That way it takes love and trust to break our outer shell to reciprocate. Beautiful senyru! Love it.
I swerved to keep from running over one this morning. Their shells are tough, but not indestructible. I figure what goes around comes around, and my old shell is mighty brittle.
and i really feel bad around my town...and out where i live..i see too many hearts lying dead on the side of the road...that tough tough shell cannot withstand an automobile's tread. it is dread for the dead turtle.
