Your words make me think of the whole music biz, of how music is so fickle and fleeting, of how vulnerable musicians are, seldom knowing how they are doing .. and of how they trade in emotions. I am not sure I cld ever be like that because those emotions .. In a way songs are absolute nothings, yet they come to mean so much to us. Sometimes it is hard to live with them because they may upset us .. and even when we listen to them happily they remind us of our lost youth. Yet it is impossible to imagine life without them. You made me think and feel, not for the first time!

This one is of a painful feeling. Broken records that skip a beat reminds me of the days gone by . I have felt that way before and understand it well. Smoking helps the mind focus and relax. Enhancing the calm that we could use a bit of. The realities of our lives are always overwhelming. Its summer again and a week at the beach would help us all to feel the child again. i am a child at heart and will try my best to never let go that spirit. I wish the body were as supple as the mind in that regard. Oh what Id give to have the youth back that so easily threw off the slings and arrows of the mind.It was yesterday i remember i was 20 thinking these old crows dont understand a damn thing. Now a day later at 54 I am surprised how much they have learned lol

Thanks Tate, much appreciate all your thoughts here.
I loved this piece. I related, as I have quite a few of these "smoky" moments. Those moments with yourself in which your thoughts battle themselves and roam free through your brain. These pauses are necessary in life... these pensive breaks from life.
Especially related to: thinking where to store emotions
that make no sense
Always a pleasure.

Always a pleasure to have you read me, those 'smoky' moments always linger, don't they?
God I love your art. You are not afraid to say what you are...or how you feel. Every word you pen strings and hums along together like a beautiful ballet. Anything really can be a crushing reminding of a familiar pain...a sting...these reminders can be like salt on an old wound that we thought was long forgotten.

This is like stream of consciousness sorrow, but perhaps a consciousness that is altered by wine or something else. The descriptions are evocative and borne of a tragedy I cannot begin to imagine.
This reminds me of the song "The End" by Sybille Baier. I love the line-breaks and the language; truly stunning. I know this feeling, and this poem makes me want to smoke and drink and listen to scratched records, because there is a sweetness to that kind of sadness.

God.. that was so beautiful. It struck a chord in me for sure.
I loved the wording and the breaking up of the words, it fit perfectly with the flow of the poem.
It really captures the emotions that run deep, truly gorgeous.

If you want to know me, read my poetry, it's all in there. I am a mother of three sons (my finest moments) a sister, a survivor and a little bit crazy. I lost my beloved sister to suicide, so you'll.. more..
