Howling at the Moon

Howling at the Moon

A Poem by Frieda P

...when the quiet transfixed my eyes,
finally realized your darkly overt tenor
no matter how often you change colors
beastly burdens invasion upon mine soul
piranha eating flesh of thy innocent young
professing peace, love, interminable charity
wolf in sheep masquerade of disavowel's claws
scraping bottom of bowels and viscera
have you no soul, even fiends take offense
cut thy own tongue and feed it unto thy ego
wallowing in the contradictions thine own self
repudiation will be thou own ruination in hell

This is really great. You see, I love poems that are political in nature. Whilst reading this, I couldn't help but picture sardonic politicians around the world. Such potency in your metaphors and vivid imagery, Frieda. After reading several of your poems, I think you can now have an anthology of them. I love that your poems are empowering.

Uh, I think I like you better when your not so drunk. Just kidding, but whoa there's some serious fire breathing going on here. Un photo apropos. This one can only be appreciated, it pours it's emotion onto you and not in a nice way, like liquid fire. Once. Is all I need.

No Prob. Thanks for the request to review as always.
How ironic that even fiends take offense. There is a lot of evil around cavorting as insanity it seems. This is a dark and descriptive poem. I'm locking my doors tonight.

This is fierce. You fight fire with fire in the piece and make no apology for the attack, as this displays true emotion of one who is backed into the corner and almost forced to hate his/her opponent. I always adore your dark pieces, as they resonate with me. Powerful, blunt, deep and cunning.

I love you like mad, Frieda xoxo
Sharpening the claws on this one, huh? Wow, that packs a punch. A couple of lines really grab me - then I read through again and couldn't pluck just those two as it all fits together in its intensity. Impressed, not too many people utilize 'thine' properly, but look at you go girl! Awesome writing, Frieda. You should seriously consider putting together a collection for print.

There are a few people I want to say this to as I plant my flag on their steaming corpses. Sigh. Reads like a battle cry. Well penned.

"even fiends take offense"
Wow! I love that it started with the elippses suggesting so much that occurred before the eyes were transfixed and the realization began. This shows a love for language that is sadly rare these days. Thank you so much for sharing it.

Evil comes to this world under the disguise of a sheep but in time they will be thrown to where they really belong. Another strongly worded piece Frieda
