Howling at the Moon

Howling at the Moon

A Poem by Frieda P

...when the quiet transfixed my eyes,
finally realized your darkly overt tenor
no matter how often you change colors
beastly burdens invasion upon mine soul
piranha eating flesh of thy innocent young
professing peace, love, interminable charity
wolf in sheep masquerade of disavowel's claws
scraping bottom of bowels and viscera
have you no soul, even fiends take offense
cut thy own tongue and feed it unto thy ego
wallowing in the contradictions thine own self
repudiation will be thou own ruination in hell

This is really great. You see, I love poems that are political in nature. Whilst reading this, I couldn't help but picture sardonic politicians around the world. Such potency in your metaphors and vivid imagery, Frieda. After reading several of your poems, I think you can now have an anthology of them. I love that your poems are empowering.

The evil ripples under the surface, lurking in the dark, inside the body of a man - betrayer, liar, abuser! Thank you for sharing this incredible piece with me.

Thanks KL< I'm kind of fond of this one myself, glad you read it...
I am intrigued by this poem and how you describe the dual personas of the weir wolf? I like the line 'cut thy own tongue and feed it unto thy ego' great stuff

Wow!

"repudiation will be thou own ruination in hell"

I love that line... ;) Excellent piece.

Oh dear god! I wonder what horrific thing made you write this! Every single line, every phrase, they're all so powerful! I love the last line. It leaves the reader feeling the magic of your piercing words one last time. Damn I missed coming here!

Wow, talk about powerful imagery! I love it. "Have you no soul?" The overall theme of the grotesque indiscretions of the beastly nature hidden within us all...the dark side. And yet, some would argue that even Vampires are hunted by their souls. Great, great write up.

I find it amusing to see the monstrosity as a politician.. Especially the "even fiends take offense" part. Well done!

have you no soul, even fiends take offense

Really strong piece, I wish I could express anger as well as you do. . . Wonderfully woven and really i think all of us have encountered such people in our lives. 100/100

I want to make a joke about how this doesn't sound like the work of one who doesn't like Shakespeare, but I don't want to make light of what's obviously an intense and visceral piece...the imagery crackles like the flames of hell itself...powerful stuff my dear.
