![]() Silenced StarA Poem by Frieda P![]() ~more of a rant than poetry![]() Can't help if I'm brutally honest, there was a lion in the sky the night I was born the road I've traveled has many pitfulls of untruths and betrayal when you trip over the injustices you tend to scream a little louder smiles are sometimes redundant, tears without roses for your sake or mine is yet to be determined some nights I fancy vodka to soften the blow, dont' judge me when you're not in the know I'm soft and just as hard, brave and I cringe at the sound of a baby's cries cowering in the dark is evil, I know, it cornered me and called my name silver linings are man's creation to hide the truth, fairytales are fabrications of trying to downplay life's brutal trials and the need to erase it I see the truth in those silences that kept me a prisoner as a youth, impostors that pretend to love but stone your heart for a shot in a cup of tea Rhymes only make me angry to see you're hiding behind lowly cowardliness, conflict, nor justice not an option written in your stars, what purpose does it serve Which sign was hanging in the skies the night you were born, it surely wasn't the scales of justice
